The biggest highlight of this upgrade was the introduction of the country's first 700-square-meter LED dome specially customized for popular science venues. The dome is constructed by Nanjing Lop Technology Co., Ltd., with an overall diameter of 23 meters and a tilt angle set to 30. It not only supports 8K ultra-high definition resolution display, but also is equipped with a 7.1-channel surround sound system to accurately realize real-time starry sky simulation, dynamic demonstration of complex astronomical phenomena and other functions bring an immersive science experience to the audience.

The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is located in Century Square in Pudong New District, with a total construction area of 100,600 square meters. It is an important popular science education landmark in Shanghai. This renovation of the dome theater is the largest facility upgrade project launched by the museum in the past two years.
