As the official technology partner of the NFL, Sony will use more powerful technology than ever to record the 59th Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 9 this year.

In total, more than 240 Sony cameras will be installed inside and outside the Caesar Superdome to capture your favorite games, replays, interviews and celebrations, enhancing the fan engagement experience for live audiences and the billions around the world who watch the game and watch Super Bowl content after the game. The cameras include Sony's Professional broadcast models used by official broadcaster FOX Sports, as well as various Alpha interchangeable lens cameras and E-mount lenses (including the G Master) that The Associated Press and other courtside photographers will use to capture eternal Super Bowl images.

The" Super Bowl is not only the biggest game of the year, but also the largest production," said Michael Davis, executive vice president of live operations at Fox Sports. quot; Our job is to tell the story of the game, capture the atmosphere in the stadium, and attract the attention of billions of viewers, and Sony is a key tool to achieve this goal." quot;

For more than a decade, Sony's professional radio cameras have been covering football's most important games. This year, Fox Sports, together with production company Game Creek Video, will deploy more than 100 cameras on-site for pre-, inter-and post-game actions and other studio programming. Fox will also be equipped with a Sony BVM reference level monitor on site for color gradients to bring the most accurate images to fans around the world.

Sony's cameras will be installed in each end zone, side touchlines and multiple locations across the stadium, including SkyCam above the stadium"". There will be 14 Sony cameras dedicated to processing streaming content.

Gary Brantley, chief information officer of the National Football League, said:" The Super Bowl is the most-watched event of the year, and providing coaches, players and fans with a real and immersive experience requires a range of advanced technologies. Sony has always played an important role in improving the game-day experience through its innovative solutions, and we are proud that Sony played a key role in making Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans an unforgettable event. quot;

Neal Manowitz, President and Chief Operating Officer of Sony Electronics North America, said:" We are proud to play a key role in Super Bowl 59, and we will leverage decades of imaging innovation and production expertise to ensure that every fan watching live or at home has the best seat." quot;

At the Super Bowl 59, in addition to all broadcast and production cameras, Fox Sports will also use Sony's HawkREPLAY system, a remote production and instant replay broadcast solution, to support the overall broadcast experience. In addition, Hawkeye technology will also support game referee and replay services and overall production.

In terms of photography, since 2020, Sony has been the exclusive imaging product and support provider to The Associated Press, the authoritative source of NFL images. A total of 14 photographers and nine editors will be sent to the Super Bowl using Sony equipment to capture and share wonderful images of the league's most decisive moments. NFL Focus, the NFL's in-house photography team, will also use a variety of Sony Alpha cameras and lenses to cover the game. Sony's professional support team will provide a warehouse of professional photographers on site to help serve and support professionals engaged in the competition, including providing loan services for the new flagship Alpha 1 II camera.

The Associated Press and the NFL's internal photography department also plan to use Sony's PDT-FP1 transmission device on site to transfer photos and videos directly from the camera to the editor in real time, thereby streamlining their workflow and releasing them to the public as soon as possible.

Every year, the scale and scope of the Super Bowl halftime show will increase, including its production elements. For the fifth consecutive year, Funeral Goats will be responsible for producing the midfield show; for the fourth consecutive year, Goats will choose Sony VENICE 2 as the main camera, along with Sony VENICE Expansion Systems and Sony Burano, for a total of 14 cameras.

James Coker, director of engineering and technology management at Funeral Goats, explained:" The challenge of the Super Bowl halftime show is different from any other project we've been involved in. With less than five minutes to set up and present a movie concert for millions of people, Sony Cinema Line cameras combine full-frame sensors with broadcast compatibility to seamlessly collaborate and complete this challenge within the structure of the show. quot;
