52DP Understanding Screen Network: Today, we are very honored to invite two experts from Barco-Mr. Peru Dalani, Senior Vice President and Head of Research Department, and Mr. Guillaume Segar, Design and Innovation Engineer. Welcome to our exclusive interview. Let's say hello to you first.
佩鲁·达兰尼:大家好! It's a pleasure to share our views on the future of visualization technology with you here.
Guillaume Segar: Hello everyone, I am looking forward to this exchange.
52DP: Gesture-control interfaces, holographic displays, artificial intelligence and other technologies in science fiction movies seem to show the future direction of visualization technology. So, are these really the development trends of visualization technology? What role will Barco play in this future?
Peru Dalani: Being proactive in the field of technology and visualization is indeed an extremely exciting era. As head of Barco Labs, I work closely with visionaries like Guillaume to develop breakthrough solutions. These solutions are not technology for technology's sake, but to add value to customers 'lives.
52DP Understanding Screen Network: What will the future of visualization technology look like?
Peru Dalani: Looking back on Barco's 90-year visualization journey, we see a storm of new technologies. But the concept of visualization has remained almost unchanged, and we still use projectors and screens to display static information. However, this is about to change. We are entering an era of interaction and visualization is becoming dynamic.
52DP: What does this mean for Barco?
Peru Dalani: For example, we are looking at the possibility of transparent displays. They are the perfect canvases for presenting augmented reality images and connecting people, surpassing today's personal augmented reality experiences. The next step is to move towards ubiquitous visualization that can appear anywhere and seamlessly integrate into the real world. Humans will interact with it in unexpected ways.
52DP: What will be the key progress in the near future?
Peru Dalani: In recent years, the amount of data has increased exponentially. By 2025, global data will grow to 180 zettabytes. A lot of computing power, intelligent visualization solutions and intelligent software are needed to process this data. The key question is how to best use this data. Barco has the expertise needed to develop a technology platform to visualize data and transform it into knowledge.
52DP Understand Screen Network: Can image quality continue to improve?
Guillaume Segar: In Bako, we have been pushing boundaries and making the images as realistic as possible. For decades, we have set standards in markets such as health care and simulations, as well as events and movie theaters. Our expertise in image processing, projection and optics puts us at the forefront in an era where image quality comes first. As the need for better image quality is endless, Barco is increasingly considering new parameters to continuously exceed expectations.
52DP Understanding Screen Network: How does Barco ride the wave of artificial intelligence?
Peru Dalani: Nowadays, when looking to the future, artificial intelligence cannot be mentioned. We cannot imagine where artificial intelligence will take us. Just like Edison invented the light bulb more than 100 years ago, no one knew at the time how much it would change our lives, but now we are used to it. For artificial intelligence, we are in that lightbulb moment. Barco not only integrates artificial intelligence capabilities into solutions, but is also developing high-performance graphics processors to process large-scale data sets in artificial intelligence algorithms.
52DP: Can we make visualization solutions truly sustainable?
Guillaume Segar: The pursuit of sustainability has been on Barco's roadmap for many years, and we continue to strengthen our attention in this area. Currently, we offer solutions that are increasingly modular, energy-efficient and circular. In the future, we may come up with more disruptive methods. If we succeed in replacing hundreds of projectors in an immersive space with one unit, it will have a huge positive impact on the entire value chain.
52DP: Thank you very much to both of you for sharing so many wonderful insights and prospects for the future with us today. I believe these will bring a lot of inspiration to the industry.
