In 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Radio and Television, and the Central Radio and Television Station jointly released relevant industry plans to vigorously promote the development of the ultra-high definition video industry and its application in related fields. As one of the first eight provinces and cities in the country to release an action plan for the development of the ultra-high-definition video industry, Qingdao has firmly grasped the window period for industrial transformation and upgrading and is building manufacturing innovation centers, content production bases, video content platforms, equipment and terminals. With efforts in product manufacturing bases and other aspects, the industry has made great progress. In 2022, more than 100 key enterprises in the city's ultra-high-definition video industry chain will achieve operating income exceeding 100 billion yuan. Four ultra-high-definition (4K) application demonstration communities have been innovatively built in the province. From the perspective of industrial chain layout, Qingdao will focus on the development of 4K/8K display driver chips, AI chips, power chips, image sensing chips, etc. for manufacturing, and research and layout ultra-high definition imaging, audio algorithms, AI video recognition, key technologies such as high-bandwidth real-time transmission. Relying on leading enterprises, we have actively introduced high-generation TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display), Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMoled) display panels and flexible display production line projects, and laid out and introduced a number of micro-pitch light emitting diode (Mini/Micro-LED) display R & D, manufacturing projects and innovative companies. Introduce and cultivate upstream key materials and component companies, carry out research on key technologies of ultra-high-definition video display devices, and continuously improve the level of key technology products such as core basic components and basic materials.
