Mojo Vision, which shocked the industry by launching the world's first AR contact lens, the Mojo Lens, was unable to raise funds due to unclear economic prospects and tight investment markets. Therefore, it changed its focus, temporarily put aside the AR contact lens plan, and turned to developing Micro LED display technology.

A few years ago, Mojo Vision developed a monochrome (green) Micro LED display with a diameter of less than 0.5 mm and a resolution of 14,000 ppi per inch. It is the smallest and highest density display screen in the world. Currently, it updates its website and claims that the technology can reach 28,000 ppi.

Mojo Vision's official website said that the core technology is to use sub-micron (sub-m) level high-efficiency blue Micro LED devices and high-efficiency quantum dot ink for color conversion; these panels also use micro-lens optical technology, and also developed custom CMOS backplane and inter-chip substrate bonding processes, and said the process is based on 300 mm chips.

Drew Perkins, CEO of Mojo Vision, said that Micro LEDs will disrupt the US$160 billion display market. Based on Mojo Lens's research and development technology, it will take the lead in the development of Micro LED technology in the future. Since technology can be applied to fields such as next-generation headsets, advanced smart TVs and video walls, compared with AR contact lenses, huge market potential and profits can be seen in the short term.

Perkins also emphasized that Mojo Lens's vision of Invisible Computing is only temporarily shelved and will return to the AR contact lens market as long as demand for AR contact lenses resurfaces in the future.
